Yamaha Boats Honored with Industry’s Highest Innovation Award

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – FEBRUARY 14, 2013 – Yamaha WaterCraft Group, a division of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., was honored today by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International as the 2013 winner of the prestigious NMMA Innovation Award.

The award judges chose Yamaha Boats for its exclusive Thrust Directional Enhancer (T.D.E.) that is available on all 2013 Yamaha boats. According to the panel, the Yamaha Thrust Directional Enhancer is “a simple, yet effective improvement that maximizes control and maneuverability at slow speeds.”

T.D.E. engages when the boat is throttled down to no wake speeds, directing the water flow from the jet nozzle downward at an optimum angle. The Thrust Directional Enhancer works exceptionally well when docking or maneuvering in tight spaces.
